About Men Get Red Too

Why this site exists and what we're trying to do.

The Problem

Skin redness affects millions of men in the UK. Rosacea alone is estimated to affect up to 10% of the population. Eczema, shaving irritation, acne redness, and sun damage add millions more. Yet men's skin concerns are largely invisible in mainstream health conversations.

The skincare industry is overwhelmingly marketed to women. When products are marketed to men, they're often loaded with irritating fragrances and aggressive ingredients that make redness worse. Men's health culture, meanwhile, encourages ignoring problems rather than addressing them — "it's just a red face, mate."

The result: two thirds of men with skin redness never see a GP about it. Conditions like rosacea go undiagnosed for years, progressing to stages that could have been prevented. Men suffer in silence with conditions that have effective treatments.

Our Mission

Men Get Red Too exists to close this gap. We provide:

  • Clear, evidence-based information about the conditions that cause skin redness in men
  • Practical, no-nonsense advice on skincare, shaving, and daily management
  • Treatment guides so men know what to ask for when they see their GP
  • Myth-busting to counter the misinformation that keeps men from seeking help
  • Encouragement to take skin health seriously without stigma

Our Approach

  • Evidence first: Everything on this site is based on current dermatological evidence, NICE guidelines, and peer-reviewed research. We don't promote products or miracle cures.
  • Straight talking: No patronising language, no "10 steps to glowing skin" fluff. Just clear information presented directly.
  • Product neutral: We discuss ingredients and treatment types, not brands. We have no affiliate links, sponsorships, or paid partnerships.
  • Inclusive: Skin redness affects men of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds. While redness is more visible on lighter skin, conditions like eczema and acne affect all skin tones.
